We are delighted to announce the soloists for our Christmas Concert on Sunday 9 December.
Jennifer Webb has always sung both classically and as a jazz soloist. She has been a choral scholar at Merton College, Oxford; and made recordings and toured with choirs, singing in cathedrals and concert venues around the UK and in Paris and Vienna.
She is now an English teacher at The Grammar School at Leeds, and sings with The Ascension Singers, a five piece choir based in Leeds who specialise in one-to-a part, a cappella choral music. In addition, Jennifer regularly performs as a soloist with other choirs and in her own right
Jonty Ward began his singing career aged 6 as a Founder Chorister under Stephen Clarke at Radley College. He went on to a choristership with the choir of New College, Oxford directed by Edward Higginbottom, becoming head chorister in 2011.
As a treble he has sung a wide repertoire and has contributed to a number of well received recordings; Jonty is the treble soloist on several Novum discs including Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Mozart’s Requiem. He currently sings bass as a deputy songman with the choir of York Minster.
